Music Box

Music Box is a collection of precious moments from different times and geographical locations.
The project was launched last year at the X-Dreams festival organized by  ARTOS Foundation. The  team is returning for two more shows-one  in Nicosia and one in Limassol- having  a distinctive  approach  towards their material, a number of new pieces and incorporating small touches of drama  that are often at the borderline of self-sarcasm in the performance.

The fist part When Chaos prevails reflects moments in the lives of 5 Cypriot musicians while the second is the account of the singer’s personal musical quests titled Mademoiselle…. aged 39!  Repertoire and text selection and original texts are by Angelina Sotiriou while orchestration was made by the musicians.

Songs are often associated with certain incidents or stages of our lives, people or places. This is an attempt to collect such pieces in a music performance very much a personal juke box or a radio broadcast.

Taking Middle East as a point of departure and Buenos Aires as the end of the journey and having constant references to film music from around the globe we will navigate through the Mediterranean, Rembetica, Portuguese Fado, Jazz and other well known pieces. Songs by Cypriot composers and singer-songwriters including pieces written by the group members will also be performed.
